2nd Chronicles 20: 12- For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know
we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, had prepared his heart to seek the Lord and he had led the people of his kingdom back to
God. And yet, the armies of several nations whom he had never harmed came against him to do battle. Have you ever wondered
why bad things happen to good people? Theres some things that well never understand in this life; The Bible says The secret
things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children forever. The Bible
also says Man that is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. It also says Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him from them all. And this is the place we all find ourselves in many times; we all find ourselves
in situations where we know we need help and deliverance, but we dont know what to do. The Bible tells us what to do when
we dont know what to do in this 20th chapter of 2nd Chronicles.
Number one; we are to do what Jehoshaphat did; he set his face to seek the Lord through prayer and fasting and he admitted
that he didnt know what to do But he said Our eyes are upon thee. We need to get our eyes on Jesus because he is bigger than
our problem; hes bigger than any mountain that we can or cannot move. We havent got any problems that God and us together
cant take care of. Number two; we are to wait on the Lord. Psalms 27:14 says Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. God is seldom early, but he is never late. Number three; we need to
realize that God through his Holy Spirit will show us what to do when we dont know what to do. Zechariah 4:6 says Not by might,
nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of host. In verse 14 of 2nd Chronicles 20, it says Then upon Jahaziel,
a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation. And he said Be not afraid nor
dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but Gods.
In verses 21 & 22 it says Jehoshaphat appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness,
as they went out before the army, and to say Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever. And when they began to sing
and to praise, the Lord set ambusments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, which were come against Judah;
and they were smitten. In verse 25 it says And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found
them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than
they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. I like those words so much; God
always does so much more for us than we could ask or think when he shows us what to do when we dont know what to do.
