1 Thessalonians 5:18- In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Gods will for our life is to give Him thanks for everything that happens to us, good or bad. Thanksgiving is one of the
most delightful blossoms in the garden of our lives. Many dont recognize that ingratitude is a grievous sin in the sight of
God.
If our words of compliant and bitterness of the past year were placed alongside our expressions of gratitude, how truly
thankful would we appear? We all have a lot to be thankful for. We should thank the Lord for food, shelter, clothing , our
family and friends and the blessing of just being alive. The Bible says, let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.
The Pilgrims settled at Plymouth, Mass., in December of 1620. By the spring of the next year, about half of them had died.
With the coming of spring , the mortality rate began to cease amongst them. The ravaged colony began to plant, to fish, to
cut and to saw. The friendly Indians showed them how cultivate and to fertilize the corn. Timber was abundant and a measure
of trade could began. By the fall of 1621, Pilgrims and Indians shared in New Englands first Thanksgiving, not a ritual of
indulgence but a hymn to survival.
If the Pilgrims could give thanks to God after all their hardships and sorrows, we ought to be able to give thanks under
much more favorable circumstances. The United States of America is still the best and most prosperous nation in the world.
God bless America.
